Back to School * Tacoma - Puyallup Family Photographer

Yes, I said it! It's back to school time. I can't believe how fast the summer went! I just spent the day today in meetings and looking over DIBELS reading data to get reading groups ready for the year. Yes...I can't ignore it anymore...it's back to school time! Tomorrow will be my first day leading (well..co-leading) a colleague group. I'm so nervous! Today my principal went over to staff what my role as classroom coach will be this year. It's so exciting to see how my job has changed over the past 8 years. I can't believe this is going to be my 9th year of teaching!!!!!! If you would have said to me that I would be coaching teachers one day...I would have laughed at you! Maybe one day I'll be standing in front of my own staff...who knows?!?!
I met an amazing family yesterday at Pt. Defiance. They have been soooooooo patient waiting for their sneak peek. I usually like to put up my sneak peeks that night, but my MacBook Pro decided that its power cord was going to go out on me last night! I was so mad! Luckily I got my other computer to work! Here are the first couple that I was able to edit yesterday. More to come!

Beautiful! * Spanaway Family Photographer

I just got home from Ocean Shores. It was so much fun! Usually it's really windy when I go...but the weather was perfect! Kelly and I got to play in the water (wasn't too cold) a bit...we weren't watching and got our pants soaking wet by a wave...oops! Kylen loved shoveling the sand, but hated the water. He started crying when the water was coming up to him.

Photos are coming....but I wanted to share one photo from one of my recent family sessions. I LOVE her eyes...they are so beautiful and crystal clear! Can't wait to edit the rest!

C Family * Tacoma Family Photographer

I met up with the C family this morning. It was so beautiful at Owens Beach. There were tons of boats out which made a beautiful background!

Tomorrow Ky and I are going to Ocean Shores with my mom and sister. I'm so excited! I haven't had a day off in a lonnnnng time....so it will be good to get out and relax before the school year begins again. :-)

last but not least...my signature family pose!

Introducing Miss L! * Gig Harbor Newborn Photographer

I seriously have the best job ever! I love everything about newborn sessions...waiting for them to drift off into slumberland, the little sounds they make, the calmness in the house, and the love that just beams from the parents! Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Miss L and her family. She was such a good model that I had a hard time only picking out a few for her sneak peek! Here are a few of my favorites so far. If you're wondering...Why is there a watermelon in the first picture? ...It's because Miss L's mommy LOVED eating watermelon while she was pregnant. :-)

Come home soon daddy... * Tacoma Maternity Photographer

I met the H family yesterday for some maternity/family photos. What a fun, adorable family! Mrs. H has the perfect belly for 37 weeks. (So jealous...I did NOT look like that at 37 weeks..hehe.) Only a few more weeks till #5 joins the family..and then shortly after.... Mr. H will come home from his deployment!!!! I could tell that the little men of the house were great helpers for mommy and are really excited for daddy to come back home! Here's a little sneak peek from our session!

Miss B - Tacoma Child Photographer

I've been anticipating this session all summer! I had the opportunity to take some pretty pettiskirt pictures today for Miss B and her equally gorgeous little sister. She was the perfect model, and her sister warmed up to me when I remembered I had some C-A-N-D-Y in my camera bag (the secret to photographing a toddler)! Here are a few favorites from today...can't wait to edit the rest!

A Mother's Love - Tacoma Family Photographer

"Who ran to help me when I fell,
And would some pretty story tell,
Or kiss the place to make it well?
My mother." ~ Ann Taylor

Words can't describe the incredible connection between K and C. It's amazing! I had such a fun time today exploring Point Defiance Park in Tacoma. Every time I go there for a session I find a new, perfect spot! Here are a few from today:

You're a star Miss D! - Spanaway Newborn Photographer

I spent the afternoon hanging out with Miss D today. What a cutie!!!!! She was such a good sport posing for the camera. I hope you enjoy your sneak peeks! And to Miss D's daddy...enjoy the rest of your time home...have a safe trip back to work...and thank you for serving our country! The funniest thing happened while I was there. (Sorry Chris...I have to share!) Miss D's grandma go a new dog Precious recently. We didn't want Precious to get in the way during our session, so we put her in the bedroom. The whole time Precious made various animal sounds. It was so funny...at first I thought one of the neighbors had roosters...then I thought I heard a cow...later on I thought there was a cat in the house!!! LOL!

The Littlest Hero - Caleb * North Seattle Family Photographer

I had my 2nd session for The Littlest Heroes Project today. I heard Edmonds Beach was the place to go, so we made plans to meet at Brackett's Landing. It's a really beautiful place! We were bummed when it started raining as soon as we got there! We found a few nice, dry places and had fun climbing rocks and playing around in pettiskirts. Caleb is such a cutie...full of lots of joy and energy! Here are a few of my favorites so far. (If you look closely at the family photo...you can see the rain!!)
